Acorn Recovery Projects volunteers’ hard work recognised with special event

Volunteers who support Acorn Recovery Projects have been commended for their dedication and hard work at a special celebration event during National Volunteers Week.

National Volunteers Week is an annual opportunity to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.

Volunteers support Acorn Recovery Projects in a number of ways, including co-facilitating treatment programmes, house-keeping, or simply providing support to people going through recovery.

Many of these volunteers have successfully completed treatment with Acorn Recovery Projects, and are therefore best placed to use their lived experience to support people going through similar situations.

At the special event, volunteers were able to share their experiences, and each were presented with a certificate of achievement for their amazing work.

They were then treated to some delicious food and live music performed by Acorn Recovery Projects staff.

Hayley Boff, Operations Manager for Acorn Recovery Projects, said:

“We truly couldn’t help all the people we do without our passionate and dedicated volunteers. To say we are grateful is an understatement.

“It was humbling to hear everyone share the stories, and it was an honour to give something back to them as a ‘thank you’ for their commitment and enthusiasm.”

Acorn Recovery Projects provides a range of recovery services which enable individuals and their families to break free from drug, alcohol and other addictions.
