Calico staff and customers have taken part in an annual event celebrating the diverse cultures in the community.
The Embracing Culture day, held at Calico’s refurbished Centenary Court offices, provided a chance to learn more about different cultures and their history within the region, including Buddhism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and LGBT.
People were able to enjoy a range of culinary delights from around the world, and take part in relaxing meditation sessions.
Attendees were also treated to Henna and face painting, as well as a special performance from the Phoenix Academy Irish dance troupe.
The day was a huge success, with both customers and staff praising the event.
Carmel Roberts, Human Resources Officer, said:
“We would like to thank everyone who came to the Embracing Culture Day.
“It was a massive success, with a fantastic mix of staff, customers and partners getting together to learn about different cultures and, of course, enjoying all the scrumptious food on offer!
“The feedback has been extremely positive, and the next event is already being planned!”
Calico is committed to providing services for everyone, and has recently achieved the prestigious Investors in Diversity standard at Stage Two Full Review.
Calico is now working towards achieving the Leaders in Diversity Accreditation.
