Calico Homes has received planning approval for a new housing development on Melrose Avenue, Hargher Clough, with 31 potential new homes for local residents.
The new development will include 31 units, a mix of two and three bedroom houses and a bungalow.
Work on site will take approximately twelve months and will commence in March 2017.
Funding for the development will come from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and is aimed at meeting local need for quality accommodation.
Residents were able to give their opinions on the new development at an early consultation event last year.
The new development follows Calico’s £1.6million improvements to the appearance and insulation of existing properties in the Hargher Clough area, and the completion of new developments in Briercliffe, and on Pomfret Street and Blannel Street.
Improvement works are ongoing across other Calico estates.
