Residents from South West Burnley came together to celebrate their community with a festive lantern festival.
Now in its fourth year, residents and their children joined staff from The Calico Group for the annual procession of paper lanterns through their community, starting at Stoops and Hargher Clough Community Centre and ending at Valley Street Community Centre.
The Lantern Festival is held every year to support community cohesion and engage customers in the work provided by all parts of The Calico Group.
Santa attended the event to surprise the children, and residents were able to pick up early Christmas presents from a selection of stalls provided by Valley Street Textiles Studios and community volunteers, and enjoy some delicious food.
The lanterns used in the parade were created from scratch by children from the area throughout the year at a number of community events organised by Calico Homes.
Alicia Foley, Community Involvement Manager for Calico Homes, said:
“The lantern festival was a big success. It’s fantastic to see people from across the community come together to celebrate where they live. We’d like to thank everyone who came along.”
