Ring Stones completes work on The Calico Group’s flagship wellbeing centre

Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction has completed work on The Calico Group’s new, state of the art wellbeing project in Burnley that will provide support and training to homeless and vulnerable people.

The new Gateway facility was built by Ring Stones on Mitre Street, and is specifically designed to deliver services that will improve people’s health and wellbeing.

It will also develop individuals’ skills and employability, and support them to move on to permanent accommodation.

In total, Gateway contains 30 self-contained rooms, with space for community projects and training.

The Calico Group has invested £3.5m into the Gateway development, and will start delivering services there later this year.

James Macaree, Assistant Director for Ring Stones, said:

“I’m so proud of the work the team has done on the Gateway development, which is of the highest standard.

“Gateway is a fantastic achievement, and I’m sure all the team feel a great sense of pride in working on a scheme that will benefit so many people in our community.”

Helen Thompson, Executive Director of Calico Homes and Ring Stones, said:

“We’re so pleased with the work Ring Stones has done to complete Gateway. It looks absolutely fantastic and will provide much-needed services to the most vulnerable people in Burnley.

“Gateway will provide essential support with rehousing, support and employment training that will help people get back on their feet – it will be a vital resource for the area.”
