Calico Homes welcomes new Managing Director

The Board of Burnley-based Calico Homes is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Beach as its new Managing Director.

With more than 16 years of experience in housing, performance improvement and strategic development, Mark joins Calico Homes from One Manchester, where he served as Head of Customers and Interim Director of Communities.

Mark has a demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of customers, having previously led on developing new integrated approaches to health, support and services for older people in the community, working alongside the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust and other housing providers.

In addition to this, Mark has been actively involved in a Greater Manchester-wide project that successfully rehoused and supported 316 rough sleepers over 3 years, and has been a committee Member for Plus Dane and Bury Red Door Homeless Charity.

Calico Homes currently owns and manage approximately 4,700 homes in Lancashire, including accommodation for families, individuals and older people, plus supported housing and services for the homeless.

More recently, Calico Homes has responded to the need for extra emergency accommodation in the Burnley borough, having repurposed more than a dozen empty homes to provide housing for vulnerable people who require a safe space to self-isolate during the Covid-19 crisis.

Calico Homes is also playing an active role in coordinating the local hub, Burnley Together – which is supporting residents who are struggling as a result of Covid-19.

As part of The Calico Group, Calico Homes works alongside other Group charities across the North West to make a real difference to people’s lives, through a wide range of integrated services in housing, healthcare, support, employability and construction.

Mark will start on Monday 18 May.
