We marked International Women’s Day with an afternoon that brought colleagues together to connect, reflect and celebrate the women who make Calico what it is.
Throughout the afternoon, several women from across the organisation shared their own stories; the experiences that shaped them, the challenges they’ve faced and the moments they’re proud of. Their honesty set the tone for a really open and inspiring session.
There were a number of activities to get involved in too, including a Give to Gain wall, a pledge garden, pamper sessions as well as plenty of cakes and treats.
One of the highlights was the handwritten appreciation cards. Colleagues were invited to write a message to a woman in the group who has had a positive impact on their life or career. Dozens of heartfelt notes were shared, creating a lovely reminder of how much support and encouragement exists across our teams.
It was a simple event, but a meaningful one, and a moment to acknowledge the brilliant women who help shape Calico every day.
