A local trades show for Calico Group employees working in Burnley’s construction and trades industry has been a big success.
Over 130 people who work across Calico Homes, Calico Enterprise and Ring Stones attended the event which aimed to develop employees’ knowledge and skills and improve connections with suppliers in the industry.
The aim of the trade show was to ensure that teams delivering Calico Homes’ £25 million investment programme for Burnley are being supported in their development. The event also highlighted up-coming projects across the town including the £16 million Dovestone Gardens development at Burnley General Hospital, which is the town’s first extra-care facility.
Chris Chadford, Learning and Development Manager at The Calico Group said: “In our continuous effort to ensure our teams have the right knowledge and skills to deliver a great customer experience, we hosted our first ever Trades Day.
Having employees who are skilled and have up to date knowledge of what is going on in their industry is critical to ensuring that we can deliver investment in our homes successfully.
We invited over 25 suppliers to come and showcase new ways of working, new technology and provide updates on current products and practices. Suppliers came from all over the country to support our teams and the feedback has been brilliant.”
