The Calico Group has successfully maintained a prestigious Gold award, following a recent reassessment by business improvement standard Investors in People.
Calico was one of the first organisations in Burnley to achieve Gold status, and the organisation has officially now retained the title.
The award – which Calico has had for over five years – recognises that the organisation continues to meet the required standards, and that it remains firmly committed to the development of its staff.
Alongside receiving the continued Gold status, Calico also gained an accreditation for Health and Wellbeing.
The assessors highlighted in their report that Calico is dedicated to:
- Making sure that all staff are highly motivated, well managed and have an opportunity to develop their skills and wellbeing
- Cultivating a culture of continuous learning and personal growth
- A continued commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace
- Ensuring that staff wellbeing is a key component of its People Strategy.
The assessment reinforces Calico’s core values, which centre around the wellbeing of staff as individuals and teams, improving and strengthening the workforce and the organisation, and a commitment to going one step further with customers.
Anthony Duerden, Chief Executive for The Calico Group, said:
“This is a great achievement for The Calico Group and, most significantly, for our committed staff across the North West. Maintaining our Gold status will help to strengthen our growing reputation as a great organisation to work for.
“Over the past couple of years, The Calico Group has seen significant growth across the North West and this makes us even prouder to retain our Gold status.”
