An employee at Acorn Recovery Projects is putting on his running shoes to help raise money for a leading cancer charity.
In April, James Downie, Lead Counsellor, will be taking part in the 2019 Asics Greater Manchester Marathon in support of Cancer Research UK.
At 26.2 miles in length, the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon is Europe’s fifth largest marathon.
Thanks to the generosity of friends, family and fellow employees across The Calico Group, James has already met his target of £500, with over a month to go.
James has been undertaking regular training sessions to prepare himself for the slog ahead.
James said:
“I’m so overwhelmed by people’s generosity in support of this worthy cause – I can’t thank people enough for their kindness.
“I’ve reached my target now – now all I need to do is complete the marathon.”
