The Calico Group has become the first organisation in Burnley to gain recognition as a ‘youth friendly employer’ as part of a national scheme.
Ran by Youth Employment UK, the good youth employer charter encourages organisations to meet 5 core principles of good youth employment; Creating opportunity, recognising talent, fair employment, developing people and youth voice.
After signing up to the charter in February 2023, The award of the charter recognises that The Calico Group is willing to recruit and develop young people as an inclusive employer.
10% of the Calico Group’s employees are under 25 and under 25’s are the highest proportion of any single age group applying for jobs at the Calico Group at 16% over the past 12 months.
