Leading drama-based training provider AFTA Thought has officially become part of The Calico Group.
Based in Liverpool, AFTA Thought specialises in staff training and unique conference sessions, creating scripts and training scenarios that are realistic, recognisable and measurable.
Since forming in 1988, the company has delivered training to over 25,000 people every year both nationally and internationally, through live events, film work and online resources.
By joining the Group, AFTA Thought will also be able to work closely with the diverse range of services that Calico offers.
Both parties see this as a strengthening of relationships with local authorities and health and wellbeing providers.
Anthony Duerden, Chief Executive of The Calico Group, said:
“AFTA Thought is a fantastic company delivering a unique and important training service to companies across the UK and internationally. We’re delighted to see them join our Group, and we look forward to helping the team grow and develop.
“Through our new relationship with AFTA Thought, the Calico Group will also have access to new markets and locations.”
Mary Austin, Managing Director of AFTA Thought, said:
“The companies within the Calico Group are very compatible with our own core offer and we believe that, through this new working relationship, we will be able to deepen and extend our reach into other organisations and communities where we feel we can add value.
“I am confident in the exciting development opportunities that being a part of the Calico Group will offer and how it will enhance our existing work and support new opportunities moving forward – with Calico, we feel stronger already.”
The Calico Group is made up of a range of companies, employing approximately 600 people across the North of England.
