a challenging start to the new year

Throughout the pandemic, we have tried to keep you all updated on our position as things can change regularly. We will continue to do this in 2022.

As with many organisations, we are currently seeing a high number of Covid cases across the Group. This is reflective of what we can all see happening with our own friends and families, our communities and across the country.

I would like to send my best wishes to everyone who has tested positive, and we hope that you are not too unwell.

Despite the number of cases, we are continuing to deliver our services with only relatively minor changes and our focus for the next few weeks will be continuing to do this as safely as possible for our customers and for our people.

I know this is difficult, but the fact that we can do this is testament to the hard work of all our teams and I am grateful for their commitment and customer focus.

We have contingency plans to cover areas that may see a bigger impact from people isolating and we will put these in place if needed. Although we are hopeful that numbers will start to fall shortly, we expect to see relatively high numbers for the next few weeks.

Any changes that are required to our services or any changes to the way we work will be communicated via our websites and social media. Our staff will continue to test as required before coming in to work, and will follow all guidance that is in place for their teams to ensure they work as safely as possible.

Although it is a challenging start to the new year, I would still like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2022. I would also like to thank everybody who continued to work over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure our vital services were delivered.

Thank you and best wishes
Anthony Duerden
