In a night celebrating the best of Burnley’s business community, Emily O’Keefe was awarded the prestigious Young Employee of the Year title at the Burnley Business Awards 2024.
Held at Crow Wood Hotel, the event drew businesses and community members from across the region.
Sponsored by Barnfield Construction, the award recognised Emily’s hard work as part of the finance team at The Calico Group.
Working as an Accounts Assistant, Emily has been able to gain experience of working across different sectors and making sure each business across The Calico Group payment journeys are simple and accounts are financially accurate.
Emily’s daily tasks play a huge role in improving the efficiency of The Calico Group. These tasks can vary from improving the bank reconciliation process for businesses of the group to looking into unallocated cash on accounts receivable.
Emily’s journey at The Calico Group started out at SafeNet as an Admin Apprentice. During her time at SafeNet, Emily was nominated for Platinum Apprentice of the Year at Burnley College Themis Awards 2023.
The Burnley Business Awards are sponsorship funded business awards organised by Burnley Council to reward and celebrate the achievements of local organisations.
