Local employer The Calico Group has launched WRK.XP, a new programme designed to give young people essential paid work experience.
WRK.XP will provide eager 16-25 year olds the chance to gain six months paid work experience across a diverse range of careers, including:
- Construction
- Support Work
- Customer Service
- Administration
- Housing Management
- Community Work
- Media
- ICT
- Finance and Accounting
- Human Resources
- Catering
- And more.
The WRK.XP offer is to work 28 hours over a week at a rate of £7.50 per hour for six months, starting from October.
People who are interested in applying need to create a 1-3 minute video which includes their name and contact details, what they can offer Calico, why they should be provided with this opportunity, and what role they are interested in and why.
Videos can be submitted via WhatsApp to 07791 365 381 by Sunday 10th September.
Clive Durkin, who is part of the team overseeing the WRK.XP programme, said:
