Calico Enterprise aims to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of individuals, in the lives of their families and within their communities. We have helped thousands of people into work or further training opportunities; many of who would have otherwise struggled in college or other academic settings.
We have been awarded funding as part of the Government’s Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Scheme. The funding will enable Calico Enterprise and partners Procure Plus to work with employers across the Northwest of England to facilitate apprenticeships through short-term placements with multiple contractors. We also offer a consultancy to ensure that social value is included in construction through both procurement and planning routes.
Our social enterprises promote advancement of education, training and the relief of unemployment of people who are unemployed, low paid, low skills or have no skills. We provide decorating, cleaning and clearance services, in addition to recycling and refurbishment contracts for local authorities.
AFTA Thought, our drama based training company provides bespoke staff training opportunities in unique conference style setting through the delivery of scripted actor-led sessions that help individuals confront some of their most challenging areas of work in a safe environment.
Our Acorn Academy delivers bespoke programmes around counselling, mindfulness, confidence-building and drug and alcohol issues with a goal of developing people’s knowledge, awareness and resilience.
