Construction Firm Lends Helping Hand to Community Arts Centre After Devastating Fire Destroys Building

Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction have contributed towards helping a community arts centre in Blackburn get back up and running in a new premises after a large fire devastated its former home earlier this year.

The Bureau Centre for the Arts in Blackburn was previously based in a council-owned grade II-listed building on Victoria Street until a large fire broke out in April 2019. The fire left the building unfit for purpose and destroyed many of the groups’ possessions.

After The Bureau relocated to the former Thwaites Visitor and Training Centre, Ring Stones and Calico Homes staff members volunteered their time and expertise by carrying out plumbing works in the new premises at an approximate value of £1500.

James Macaree, Assistant Director at Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, said:

“It was great to see both Ring Stones and Calico Homes providing support in these devastating circumstances. The works provided will go a little way in helping people regain a degree of normality and the teams always enjoy the challenge of helping others wherever possible”.
