Calico Homes has announced plans for a new, affordable housing development on Pomfret Street and Blannel Street in Burnley.
- 2x three bedroom, five person houses
- 14x two bedroom, four person houses
- 6x two bedroom, three person bungalows.
Work on site, which would be carried out by Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, would take approximately twelve months and, pending planning approval, should commence in October 2015.
Calico held a consultation event on Thursday 6th August, 3-6pm, at Howard Street Community Centre.
The event provided residents with an opportunity to discuss the proposals in more detail with Calico staff, and to provide feedback on the plans.
Calico’s Skills and Enterprise team were also available to speak with any local residents who may be interested in considering apprenticeship opportunities.
Helen Thompson, Calico’s Director of Customer Services, said:
“Calico is committed to delivering homes that people can afford, and helping to tackle the national housing crisis.
“This new development, which has been backed by the Homes and Communities Agency, will deliver much needed homes for local people from the area, as well as a number of apprenticeship opportunities.
“It’s crucial that local residents are involved throughout the development process, and we look forward to working with them to ensure they have their say on any decisions that will have an impact on them.”
