Thirteen employees from across The Calico Group have received training to help them become Mental Health First Aiders.
Through the accredited training, the First Aiders will be able to support staff who may be struggling with their mental health.
They will also provide a confidential avenue for employees to discuss any issues they may be having around mental health.
As part of its Wellbeing Mental Health Programme, The Calico Group is dedicated to ensuring that staff have access to any support they may need around their mental wellbeing.
Anthony Brandon, Organisational Development Assistant for The Calico Group, said:
“We want to recognise that our staff’s mental health is just as important as their physical health. By providing this training, our employees will have that little bit of extra support to help improve their wellbeing.”
In addition to the Mental Health First Aiders, staff also have access to the 24-hour PAM Assist helpline to discuss any issues people may be dealing with.
Earlier this year, the company delivered an awareness session with State of Mind Sport to encourage male staff members to open up about their mental health.
The Calico Group is passionate about supporting the wellbeing of staff across all of its companies, and delivers a range of wellbeing opportunities to help improve employees’ physical and mental welfare, including an Employee Assistance Programme, holistic therapies, and a range of physical activities.
