Addiction support provided by Delphi Medical in one of the UK’s biggest prisons has received positive feedback following a recently published report by the HM Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP).
Delphi Medical provides drug and alcohol treatment in a number of prisons in the North West, including HMP Manchester.
A report recently published by HMIP highlighted the quality of support delivered in HMP Manchester, including 15 substance misuse treatment programmes and 14 mental health support services.
The support provided by Delphi Medical helps prisoners commit to living a life free from dependency, helping reduce further offending when they reach the end of their sentence.
The report states that ‘the team was well managed with comprehensive governance, and staff had the required competencies’, and that ‘staff had introduced an impressive menu of prescribing options and treatment pathways’.
The Reduction and Motivation Programme (RAMP) – described by HMIP as an ‘active and well managed peer support scheme’ – was also highlighted in the report.
