Young people are gaining paid work experience with The Calico Group’s new WRK.XP programme, for which candidates have sent video applications showing their ambition and drive.
WRK.XP is providing the group of eager 16-25 year olds with six months paid work experience across a diverse range of careers, including housing, construction, administration, IT, and finance and accounting.
Over six months, recruits were placed with services across The Calico Group, and have learned business and employment skills, while finding out about how the company works.
The successful candidates were chosen after each of them submitted a short video introducing themselves and showing what they could offer Calico, and why they should be provided with this opportunity.
Clive Durkin, who is part of the team overseeing the WRK.XP programme, said:
“We’re all really pleased with the success of WRK.XP. All our recruits are really living up to the potential they showed on their submission tapes.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their dedication and their determination to get stuck in and learn as much as they can. We really appreciate everyone.”
Following the success of the initial WRK.XP pilot, Calico intends to run the programme again in 2018.
